Meghan Naxer is an Instructional Design Specialist at Oregon State University's Ecampus. Prior experience includes five years of instructional design and online teaching experience at Kent State University and the University of Oregon. Before joining the Ecampus team, I was an assistant professor of music theory and lead faculty developer and coordinator for the music analysis course in the Online Master of Music in Music Education Program at Kent State University. I first became interested in instructional design eight years ago when I was part of the original development team for this course. I hold a PhD in music theory from the University of Oregon and an MA and MM from Kent State University in music theory and flute performance. My dissertation, “Malleable Mindsets: Rethinking Instructional Design in Undergraduate Music Theory,” developed new theoretical models of motivation for instructional designs in that field. My research interests include pedagogy, educational psychology, and video game design. I am excited to collaborate with faculty and the Ecampus team to create exciting learning environments for the students at OSU.
